The Muslim Gold Star Father That Spoke At The Dnc - 862 Words

To the Muslim Gold Star father that spoke at the DNC†¦..I have some thoughts on your comments. I am a Blue Star mother. My deepest condolences on the loss of your son. No family should have to endure such a loss. That being said†¦.while your son is a hero, you Sir, are NOT. My son has served three tours of combat in the countries you and your family came from. Iraq and Afghanistan were his introduction to adulthood and service to something bigger than our individual selves. He was blown up by an IED set by your countrymen. His Purple Heart is a testament to his love of America and our freedoms. I have suffered through his multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan†¦.never knowing from moment to moment if he would return home in a flag draped coffin. It is torture when a mother wakes up to this day after day and sees the atrocities happening over there on the news and being helpless to change a thing. My comments to you will probably offend you. I do not apologize. T hese things need to be said. Unlike you, I could NEVER use my son’s death as a pawn piece in support of a woman that left â€Å"America’s treasure† (Hillarys words) to die unaided in Benghazi. The same woman that says vile things to her military details there to protect her. You, Sir, are supposed to be a witness to your son’s bravery and sacrifice. Instead you stood on a stage and promoted the woman that upholds the very people that killed your son. You became a political PAWN that promotes pandering to our enemy.

The increased demand has therefore, led to the creation of many new industries. One of these industries is the Event Management sector, which has become a demanding line globally. The function of the event management industries is to organize various events and programs in various sectors and reducing the work of the organizations planning to organize such events. The study will therefore, evaluate the various standards related to event management industries so that it can be easier to analyze ones own SWOT Analysis and thereby understanding the points, which can be essential to meet the selection criteria to get employed in a reputed event management company. Entry 2 In this part of the study, a self-analysis will be done with respect to the industry standards working in an event management companies. However, it is essential to know the industry standards in event management. Event management is the implication of project management for the establishment of any events such as conferences, ceremonies, parties, conventions etc. It can act as a marketing strategy through which an organization can motivate its employees and create a close relation with the stakeholders. There exist few standards, which these event management groups and the managers need to maintain in order to achieve its organizational goals. These standards comprise of delivering the highest quality of service to its clients. The supervision of the events from time to time organized by the firm is an essential function thereby, reducing any problems in the event. The management of the cost, staff and wastage needs to be underlined so that the profits can be maintained (Allen, O'to ole Harris and McDonnell 2012). A healthy relation with the suppliers is crucial as they provide all the resources. The implementation of the improvements received from the customer feedback is essential. The most important standard includes concentrating on the needs of the customer as every customer has different needs altogether. The provision of brochures and management covers to the clients advertises their service better. The most vital standards pertaining to this industry is running its business in such a way so that the society, the environment and the economy remain in a sustainable position. If the organization functions keeping the above mentioned factors healthy, then it can gain profit. The customers are also an important factor as because of them these organizations survive. The key to become an efficient event manager is by complying with the standards of the industry and therefore, it is essential to make a SWOT Analysis of my own self so that the pros and cons can be identified. SWOT Analysis Strength: According to the given standards, it is seen that the strengths are having the ability to mix with people very easily and motivating the colleagues so as to bring in a harmonious atmosphere. The ability to mix with people helps in creating good public relations. Another strength is the urge to learn more and thus will be helpful in being updated with the changing requirements. Weakness: There exists a lot of weakness like leadership qualities and lacking the power to convince people. The other weakness includes the lack of experience about the event management system. The ability to be patient and get the work done also requires attention. Opportunity: The opportunities include the chance to undertake extra trainings about the functioning of the industry thereby gaining proficiency (Masterman 2014). Other opportunities involve the gaining from the on the job training and thereby learning a lot from it. Threat: The threat involves the high competition rate for the position of the job as there are other candidates good enough to apply for the job. The threat also includes the changing needs of the customers and so it is essential gain knowledge from time to time. Entry 4 Part 1: Career Action Plan The position, I feel that is best suited according to the qualification is the post of an event manager. The requirements of being an event manager involve the analysis of a few steps to develop a proper action plan so that a good job of an event manager is achieved. The components involving the career development include the following factors: My Profile: A proper self-development plan with proper information is helpful to the new ones to understand their capabilities. The initiation of steps to identify the interests regarding the event and their skills and values will help to improve the quality of work. My Progress: This system will be effective to develop self-development information to assess the experience and achievements during the past years so as to gain knowledge. My Goals and Plans: The development of self- assessment abilities to establish their abilities and information about career development to motivate them to investigate their learning opportunities and work options in future (Puymir et al 2016). My Review: The assessment of the work done till now is of vital importance so that transformations can be made according to the growing opportunities in the future. The career action plan will therefore include the creation of new ideas, which can develop the ideologies, which can be helpful to create an edge so that one can achieve the post within the stipulated time overcoming the other rivals. The chance of getting a job in the event Management Company may require references and therefore, the need to contact some existing employee or knowing anyone from the management is necessary to elevate the chances of getting a job in the company. Part 2 The chances of getting a job also depend upon looking at the criteria of the firms operating in the event management industry. The selection criteria of an industry are an important part of being selected. The selection criteria is a crucial part of an organization and the criteria differs from firms to firms (Singh 2016). There are primarily four criteria, which every firm tries to follow and therefore, these four criterions will be assessed to find out whether the job of an event manager is achievable. One of the most important aspects to get a job is the verbal and written communication power of an employee. Thereby, the ability to draft a proper and clear documentation is essential to communicate and create a good knowledge to the stakeholders. The ability of wring and communing orally is an efficient part and thus it can be an essential for me to get the job. The ability to initiate strategies so that points like the prioritizing the work and completing the task in the assigned deadline is necessary. This ability is present in the potential employees will be beneficial as the knowledge about the work and getting it done on time makes an employee more effective to get the job. The internal skills present in a potential employee are an important factor because the ability to communicate with the various people involved in the business like the stakeholders or the clients is an important factor. The ability to communicate and instruct their duties is very much present and therefore it acts as an USP to get the job (Patterson and Getz 2013). The ability to work as a team is there as during the college many projects and workshops were done to create a sense of unity among a team so that a work can be done better. Thus, this part is present to get the work done and thus, the chances of getting the job become higher when the communicating and the decision enrolment power exits according to the selection criteria. The movement of the Japanese Yen relative to the US dollar

Abstract Over past three decades, Japanese Yen has fluctuated significantly against the U.S dollar. It was stronger during the 80s to the early 90s, but this value has been deteriorating since mid 90s to date.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The movement of the Japanese Yen relative to the US dollar specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Japanese government intervened in many occasions in their foreign exchange market to attain unjust advantage in the global world market. However, these interventions were only felt in the short run but failed to avert the direction of the Yen in the long-run. In addition, these interventions had negligible effect on the prices of Japanese commodities in the U.S market. Introduction The current global financial market is dominated by allegations that some countries are trying to manipulate their exchange rates using unjust means. The major culprit at the present is China, although the s ame allegations were made against Japan (Vikas Yan 2006). Governments often intervene in the currency market by buying foreign exchange-mostly the major global currencies- in order to increase the demand for these currencies and consequently their values relative to their domestic currency. On the other hand, they can sell these major foreign currencies to reduce their demand in the currency market thus increasing the value of their domestic currency. In the case of Japan, it has often bought U.S. dollars from its local exporters in exchange for their domestic currency (Japanese Yen) and utilizes the dollars to purchase American securities and liquid assets (Cashin et al. 2004). U.S government has a lot of interest in the global currency manipulations, interventions and unjust alignment, since it has considerable repercussions on their economy. Unfair manipulation of the exchange rates to underrate global currencies can raise the US trade deficit, increase their dependency on forei gn investors to finance this deficit, thus affects their interest rates and their competitive advantage in the global trade. Japan has always timed when the dollar’s value is declining relative to Yen to purchase U.S securities and liquid assets. The main aim of doing this was to stabilize the value of Yen and preventing the prices of their exports from increasing in US markets and to maintain their exports’ profitability (Vikas Yan 2006). Yen’s ascension started significantly started after the signing of the Plaza Accord in 1985 by the major industrial economies at that time. It marked two distinct periods. The first part was between 1980s to early 90s where recession led to a very strong yen. The second section lies between mid 90s to date where the real exchange rate of the Yen has been depreciating significantly resulting to a deteriorated balance of trade between Japan and U.S (Rasmus Hutchinson, 2003).Advertising Looking for essay on business econo mics? If this is the case, then it gives Japanese manufacturers upper hand pricewise over their American competitors. The greatest victim of the Yen undervaluation is the U.S automobile industry. The headquarter of the U.S automobile industry claimed that these gave price advantage of approximately 4000 dollars per car manufactured in Japan as compared to U.S . It enhanced the sale of Japanese cars in the American market. Figure 1 in the appendix shows the trend of the Japanese real effective exchange rate relative to the dollar from 1973 to 2006 (Vikas Yan 2006). International economists argue that currency interventions for large economies with floating exchange rates such as Japan only works for a short run and have diminutive effect on the long run. Some experts believe that even without manipulations, Japans share of the foreign exchange will still remain since it earns by investing in the US securities and other liquid assets. In 2006, Japan earned more ($40 billion) on its total investment in US than what the US earned on its investment in Japan. Japanese government interventions in the currency market took place in late 70s to 2004. Since then, Japanese government has never intervened very much in the foreign exchange market to affect the value of the dollar as illustrated in figure 2 in the appendix (Vikas Yan 2006). Currency values and Trade This section explains the impact of the yen-dollar exchange rates on the imports and exports. Theoretically, Japanese interventions in the foreign exchange market was aimed at undervaluing Yen, thus makes their exports cheaper. This should have enabled Japan to either reduce the price of their exports or maintain it while making more profits. Lower export prices and higher import prices r esults into surplus in the balance of trade and therefore increases economic growth. In reality, the functioning of the foreign exchange market is different from the theoretical perspective. To be specific, the long run relation between government interventions and foreign exchange market is difficult to demonstrate practically (Koujianou Knetter 1997). Japanese automobile manufacturers and other exporters to the U.S market do not adjust their prices in response to short run fluctuations in the exchange rates. There prices are set according to the prevailing commodity market conditions and long-run financial market conditions.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The movement of the Japanese Yen relative to the US dollar specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More For example, between 1994 to early 1995, Japanese Yen rose by 34% against the dollar meaning that the prices of Japanese goods in U.S market should have followed the same trend. However, Toyota sticker prices only appreciated by 2% while the prices of Sony TV sets dropped by 15%. Conclusion Since early 70s to date, the value of Japanese Yen has fluctuated significantly against the U.S dollar. The value of Yen was relatively stable during 70s to early 80s. Yen’s ascension started significantly after the signing of the Plaza Accord in 1985 by the major industrial economies at that time. The fluctuations in the value of yen forced the Japanese government to intervene in the foreign exchange market. However, these interventions only succeeded in the short run but failed to avert the direction of the Yen in the long-run. References Cashin, P., Luis F. C., Ratna, S. 2004.
